2010 Race Results

 

The City of McKinney, Texas in partnership with McKinney Velo invite you to the first annual Bike the Bricks criterium presented by McKinney Volkswagen... in Historic Downtown McKinney on Friday evening, June 11, 2010. Spectators will be inches from the action as bike racers rocket through the downtown McKinney square at speeds in excess of 40 MPH, powered only by their legs, and protected from the pavement only by their skill.

Some will be trying to grab a share of the $15,000 prize money, for others it’s a test of survival.

For the fans it will be a chance to enjoy a premier festival event, featuring the Michelob Ultra beer garden and live entertainment provided by John Christopher Davis, The Maylee Thomas Band and Buster Brown.

Warm up begins at 4:15 p.m., racing kicks off at 5:00 p.m., John Christopher Davis takes the stage at 6:30, and the main event featuring the fittest and fastest racers in Texas starts at 9:30 under the stars in Historic Downtown McKinney.

With your support, Bike the Bricks will help ensure that children in McKinney have the chance to be a part of the programs provided by the McKinney Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces department and make lasting memories along the way.

Proceeds from the event (including race entry fees) will be donated to the McKinney Youth Recreation Benefit Fund by Bike the Bricks event organizer, McKinney Main Street. The McKinney Youth Recreation Benefit Fund provides McKinney residents with financial assistance to ensure that children in McKinney enjoy fun activities they may otherwise not be able to participate in. McKinney Main Street is a 501 (c) nonprofit organization with a mission to ensure that downtown McKinney continues to be the vibrant, inviting, safe and growing area it is known for today.

Bike the Bricks in Downtown McKinney on June 11 is an opportunity for racers and fans to make memories while helping McKinney Main Street and McKinney Velo support a worthy cause in our community. On behalf of McKinney Main Street, thank you for your support and acknowledging the importance of recreation activities for the youth in McKinney.
